About 8 months back we sat down and had a meeting about the CR-Z Tuning scene and what, if any, our involvement would be with this market. Beyond the CR-Z being an aesthetically pleasing re-birth of the CRX, there’s so much potential with this chassis, we couldn’t wait to get involved. Bringing some CR-Z parts on hand was the start, but teaming up with CRZForum.com is where the fun began. CRZForum is one of strongest communities of owners, manufacturers, and supporters of Honda’s newest platform, and with only 5 months in, being a supporting vendor has already lead us to some great projects and new friends.

We recently started working with Rodrigo Baluyot out of San Jose California, and can’t say too much about the future direction on his CR-Z project but bagged and sitting proper is just the start. Rod stays very active in the Southern, Central, and Northern California car scene and was featured on Canibeat earlier this month. We attached a few pictures below but check out the full shoot at the Canibeat link below. Photography was done by Pat Lauder.

As Rod’s build progresses we’ll post updates to our AutoCity Imports Facebook Page and we’ll be sure to post some additional blog entries along the way.

Happy New Year to the AutoCity Imports community! We’d like to send a big THANK YOU to all our loyal customers who helped make 2011 a banner year for the company. Last year, our New Year’s resolution was move into a much-needed larger location and bring in some new hires. The move came in May along with the addition of Brad Lenard and Scott Lenard to our team. More space and larger staff has allowed us to work more efficiently as well as focus on expanding our product selection and availability.

In 2011 we stayed more involved with the 8th Gen Honda Civic and Honda CR-Z communities – two groups we love working with and can’t wait to do more for. We’ve added tons of 2006+ Honda Civic Performance Parts and 2011+ Honda CR-Z Performance Parts and are focused to continue this support into 2012. Come say hi to us at 8thCivic.com and CRZForum.com in our vendor sections.

We’re starting off the New Year with lots of ideas and goals to continue growing. We’ve been in touch with new manufacturers and are working on new accounts that will bring some cool parts we’ve never carried before. We also have a handful of projects lined up to offer parts and services that will be exclusive to AutoCity customers. – stay tuned!

You all probably have your own big plans and goals for 2012, and if you’re a car guy (or girl) a lot of those goals are about fixing your car up. Comment on this post and tell us what car you drive and share a few short sentences what your goals are for your car in 2012. At the end of January we’ll be selecting one of the comments posted and will send out a $50 gift card to help get one of your projects rolling for the New Year.

Let’s make this year a good one. Cheers!

With car manufactures heavily focused on creating more eco-friendly vehicles, hybrid tuning is becoming more common, and as of late the Honda CR-Z seems to be the poster child for this movement. Honda enthusiasts didn’t seem to embrace the challenges of hybrid tuning immediately, but with the overwhelming support from the performance parts industry many are coming around and adapting to these changes. Check out the link below for our selection of CR-Z Performance Parts and accessories.

We are extremely excited to be involved with the Honda CR-Z community and proud to be a supporting vendor on CRZForum.com. For those not familiar, CRZForum.com is an online community where you can interact with other CR-Z enthusiasts. You’ll find everything from tech support, reviews, news, photos, and specs on the sport hybrid CR-Z. We have a dedicated section on the forum where we’ll announce new product releases, showoff customer rides, and offer tech support.

We have a great selection of CR-Z Performance Parts with many more on the way, including some harder to find JDM parts. Stay connected with us on our facebook page for updates on our CR-Z selection as well as take advantage of some facebook only specials and giveaways.

More Honda CR-Z news to come, thank you for your support!!!

We became a vendor on the 8thCivic.com forums back in 2006, not too far off from the release of the car. For those not familiar; 8thCivic.com is an online forum for everything 8th Generation Civic (2006 – 2011) related. With nearly 10 million posts and more then 87,000 members this is a stand out as one of the biggest communities for Honda Civic tuning enthusiasts.

We’ve worked with a good amount of 8th Gen Civics, but as a smaller company we’ve been easily side tracked with other projects over the years, never really allowing us to give the Civic community our all. Most recently we’ve moved into a larger facility, and with this move came more help and room for growth. With that said 2011 is the year we start the Civic lovin initiative. Because of our involvement with 8th gen Civic community we’re making more immediate moves in this market now but plans to focus on the 9th Gen Civic as well as back peddle into earlier generation Civics is all coming very soon.

New brands, new parts (including some harder to find JDM goodies), and better availability are all at the top of our list and we’re really excited to dig back to our roots a bit and show our Civic love!! Stay connected with us on our facebook page to see what new parts we have coming in, see some of our customers projects, and take advantage of facebook only specials.

More Civic news to come, thanks for your support!!!

Happy New Year to the AutoCity community! We’d like to send a big THANK YOU to all our loyal customers who helped make 2010 a banner year for the company. Last year, our New Year’s resolution was to launch a revamped Web site, which we finally saw come to fruition in May. We hope you enjoyed the improvement as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Every day we’re working to keep our product line fresh and full, so let us know if we’re missing something.

This year we also got more involved with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe community – a group we love working with and can’t wait to do more for. In 2010 we added tons of Genesis Coupe Performance Parts and manufacturers in every category from Genesis Coupe Exhaust Systems to Body Kits. For 2011 we have our focus on bringing some hard to find KDM parts to the states. We are still at the beginning stages of this venture but expect it to pan out within the first couple months of 2011. Come say hello to us at GenCoupe.com in our new vendor section.

Being only one short year into the release of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and seeing the kind of aftermarket support it’s had is simply amazing. Major aftermarket manufacturers down to smaller shops are releasing Genesis Coupe Parts that owners seem to be taking very well to. As we see more customers and friends moving towards this platform it’s only logical to focus on growing our Genesis Coupe Parts selection. At this point we have over a hundred aftermarket model specific Genesis Coupe Performance Parts and accessories online as well as a few exclusive projects already in motion.

We are actively bringing more Genesis Coupe Performance Parts on hand but we want to urge you to give us some feedback. If you don’t see something you’re looking for please let us know. We are focusing on improving our selection and your feedback would be a big help and very much appreciated.

We had a blast holding this t-shirt contest and we could not have asked for a better end result. The first place design and $400 cash prize goes to David La of www.davidla.net. He put together an amazing design that showcases our tie to the Mitsubishi tuner market. The layout shows a city backdrop with a Lancer Evo X and the infamous but never released 2006 Eclipse Ralliart up front. We’ve worked with a lot of customers and a lot of different cars over the years but we have an extremely loyal following of Mitsubishi owners. This is a perfect design to show where our roots are at. We are printing limited quantities of this shirt and they will be available to start shipping on September 17th.

To purchase the shirt follow this link: AutoCity Imports “Mitsubishi Slate” T-Shirt

Our second place design went to Serina Jones of www.rrinconline.com. This stayed true to our classic AutoCity Imports shirt with the vertical logo but amped it up a bit with the addition of an amazing backdrop of performance parts and popular sport compact accessories. Third place went to Dustin Perotti with www.yourfrienddustin.com. This was more of a text design but we loved the vibe of the cartoon city scape and the off center layout. If you like these designs let us know, if the demand is here we will look into printing these down the road.

Thank you to everyone that submitted designs, we got a lot of really amazing entries and had a blast doing this.

A little over a month ago we posted a blog entry to gauge interest in holding an AutoCity t-shirt design contest. We got a pretty good response on the idea so we are moving forward with the contest as of today. As far as design speculations go we really have none. We need some new promo shirts, so be as creative as you want. Obviously we would like people to know what the shirt is representing so please include our company name or website address somewhere in your design.

The contest will stay open for 4 weeks to allow for everyone to get his or her submissions in. All submissions must be entered by August 22nd. We will narrow the results down to the top three designs and post them on our blog, faceboook, and multiple forums to allow our customers and followers to choose the winner. The first place winner will take home $400 cash, a couple t-shirts, and the design will go to print as the newest AutoCity Imports t-shirt. A $25 gift card, t-shirt, and decals will go to the next 2 runners up.

  • We would like the design be printed on a black or white shirt. So please create your design with either a black or white background depending on what color shirt you would like to see your design on.
  • We would like to keep the number of colors being used in the design down to 2 or 3 colors. If you have a vision for something that absolutely requires more colors please still submit the design but try to narrow the colors down if you can.
  • We prefer you create your graphics in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, or other digital art vector-based software. (Adobe Illustrator is preferred) Please set the resolution to 300DPI. When you are submitting the art please email over a JPEG image.
  • If you are not familiar with digital art programs you can still submit drawings or other freehand work. If you wish to send submissions in like this please scan in your art and email them in.
  • Design the image with a max area of 10” x 17”.
  • For digital art please make each color a different layer as this is a requirement if we have your design printed.

Also, it is not required that you put our exact logo on the shirt but in case you wish to do so here is the font information. (AUTOCITY FONT is “Neuropol X”) & (IMPORTS FONT is “Handwriting – Dakota”)

Ok, that should cover everything! This is the first contest we are holding like this and are very excited to see what sort of designs and submissions we receive. Please send your designs or questions to [email protected].

Good Luck and Have Fun!
